Your plated jewellery is waterproof, tarnish resistant, sweat/ regular wear resistant and will last for years and years if cared for correctly as per this care guide. If not cared for correctly, like any metal it will tarnish or dull in colour over time.

To really prolong the life of your jewellery and prevent this please follow our care advice below:

  • Wait until your lotion or cream is dry or has been absorbed by your skin before you wear your gold plated ring, bracelet or necklace.
  • Do not spray on perfume or other sprays while wearing your gold plated jewellery.
  • Remove your jewelry before you swim in salt or chlorine pools.
  • Prevent salts from damaging gold-plated pieces by taking them off before exercising or sweating a lot.
  • Don't sleep, shower or do the dishes in your gold-plated jewelry.

Cleaning your Jewellery

  • Clean your jewellery by wiping down each piece after every wear. Be as gentle as possible. Do not use a polishing cloth as its subtle texture may scratch the plating off. You may use a very soft non abrasive cloth.
  • If your jewellery needs more cleaning you may clean it with warm, soapy water. Soak it for a few minutes and you may clean it with a soft brush.
  • Do not leave soaked in water, any harsh chemicals or use any polishing material. Stay away from jewellery cleaners and antibacterial soaps which may have certain components that will just make your gold plated jewellery tarnish more quickly.

Storage

  • Remove your jewellery before going to bed to prevent them from getting tangled up, rubbing against other metals or breaking.
  • When not wearing jewellery, store each piece separately in a jewellery box or wrap it in a soft cloth to prevent scratching.
  • Avoid mixing gold-plated jewellery with other jewellery and keep it in your purse.
